​Just a few miles from our cabins and vacation rentals, Saranac Lake is an idyllic Adirondack village. Enjoy stunning scenery with fewer tourists than nearby Lake Placid, and plenty of outdoor recreation, arts, shopping and attractions.

Canoeing, hiking, kayaking and cycling are just some of the outdoor activities available in Saranac Lake. The area is also home to two golf courses, Saranac Lake Golf Club and Saranac Inn Golf Club. In the winter, visitors enjoy downhill skiing at Mount Pisagh and cross-country skiing and snowshoeing at Dewey Mountain Recreation Center, both of which offer mountain biking in the off-season.

Arts & Entertainment

The Adirondacks have always attracted artists, and Saranac Lake is no exception. Visit the downtown art and photo galleries, or see a show at the Pendragon theatre, the only year-round professional repertory in the Adirondacks. You’ll also find virtual events and contemporary art shows at Bluseed Studios and a wide variety of live music at the Waterhole music lounge.

Take a ride on the Adirondack Carousel, learn about the village’s history as a tuberculosis cure center at the Saranac Laboratory Museum, or follow the Riverwalk brick path as it winds through town along the Saranac River. For those visiting in February, check out the Saranac Lake Winter Carnival, featuring an ice palace made of ice blocks harvested from the lake.

Downtown Saranac Lake features a number of canoe and trail outfitters to help you gear up for any adventure, as well as unique, locally-owned shops selling everything from books and board games to paintings and pottery.

Just minutes away from Moreno’s Cabins, there’s a vibrant restaurant scene in Saranac Lake where visitors have plenty of choices.
